About Lauren
My “what I want to be when I grow up” answers changed many times over the years, from being a teacher to an archaeologist, interior designer, and graphic designer.
But some consistent themes throughout my evolving interests included problem-solving, uncovering meaningful insights, sharing knowledge with others, and crafting visually compelling designs.
I have a degree in Human-Centered Computing from the Rochester Institute of Technology with concentrations in Research, Accessibility, and Visual Design.
My career started as a UX Designer at GE, where I focused my time in the enterprise e-commerce and admin space, designing self-service tools that empower employees.
I work remotely from the DC suburbs where I live with my chihuahua, Josie. When I’m not working you can find me reading, renovating my condo, doing pilates, or traveling.
My Design Principles
-
I believe that collaboration enhances creativity and learning, and brings together diverse perspectives while creating a space for new ideas and constructive feedback.
-
The moment we feel stagnant and comfortable is the moment we stop growing and pushing ourselves to be better.
-
‘Kaizen’ is a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement. Designs are never done and there will always be room for improvement, one iteration at a time.
